
"In White Rooms" and "Night Falls" became the two best-selling EPs in the 2006 catalog of vinyl distributor Intergroove. Movements was released in May 2006 and contains the two previous successes and the well-known numbers "Night Falls", "In White Rooms" and "Darko". Finally, an invitation followed to go on tour with Röyksopp and appear as the opening act for Depeche Mode in Berlin.Īs a result, Booka Shade became coveted and much sought-after remixers, among others in the service of renowned acts such as Moby, The Juan McLean, Yello, Hot Chip, Depeche Mode, Roxy Music, Dubfire, Tiga, Dave Gahan and The Knife.Īt the end of 2006, English online mag resident advisor voted Booka Shade the best live act and their second long player, Movements, the best album. At the same time, Booka Shade's solo single "Mandarine Girl" had a similar success and was performed in her live shows at the Sonar Festival 2005 in Barcelona and with Mylo in London. The title was voted a club hit, “Ibiza Track of the Season” and “Track of the Year” by DJ Mag. This was followed by the collaboration with MANDY, which led to the single "Body Language" and made Booka Shade an internationally recognized act. In 2004 Booka Shade released their debut album Memento on Get Physical. As a result, Get Physical grew rapidly and is now a very respected label in the electronic music field. Booka Shade have worked there as producers since the label was founded in 2002, including the releases of MANDY, DJ T., Sunsetpeople and Chelonis R. and their long-time friends Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung, also known as MANDY, which later led to the foundation of the Get Physical label.

Towards the end of the 90s there were collaborations with DJ T. Finally converted to house, techno and trance from the underground clubs of these days, Kammermeier and Merziger began to publish on labels such as R&S, Music Man, Tommy Boy and Harthouse, before they degenerated with the trance classic Una musica senza ritmo in 1993 and then the first big hits landed on the Dutch label Touché in the mid-90s with the progressive tracks Kind of Good and Silk. In the early 90s they both made music under the name Planet Claire and released the album of the same name, produced by Peter Hayo.Įven in their early synth-pop times in the early 90s, Booka Shade saw themselves primarily as a touring band.
